Master goldsmith Tamas Zalatnai was born in Budapest, Hungary and gained notoriety as a jewellery maker for Gabriel Lucas in Montreal and both Toni Cavaletti and Montecristo Jewellers in Vancouver. For a time he shared his skills and knowledge as an instructor at Vancouver Community Centre, Vancouver Community College and Nunavut Arctic College. He uses a fusion of materials, including bronze, silver, gold, soapstone, slate and even caribou antlers.
